SGH Aseer successfully treated a patient with a shoulder tumor

The Orthopedic Oncology Department at Saudi German Hospital Aseer, the first of its kind in the private healthcare sector in the Southern Region, successfully performed surgery on a patient with a tumor in her shoulder.

The patient was admitted to the hospital with severe pain in her right shoulder, which various tests and x-rays diagnosed as a cancerous tumor on her right shoulder bone. After consulting our Oncologists and Radiologists, she was advised to undergo surgery to remove the tumor under the supervision of our expert Orthopedic Oncologist. 

During the surgery, the shoulder tendons and muscles were repaired, and a complete joint replacement procedure was performed to replace the right shoulder bone, which had to be removed to excise the tumor.

The surgery was successful, and the patient was discharged upon confirming no post-surgery complications. The patient regularly attends follow-up check-ups with the Orthopedic Oncology, Oncology, and Radiotherapy departments.
