What is minimally invasive heart surgery?

Concussion means short-term defect in the brain functions (memory, concentration, balance, vision… etc.) due to exposure to direct head trauma. Concussion is believed to be the mechanism in which the brain is trying to heal itself after trauma.  

Signs of concussion tend to occur immediately after trauma, but also it could develop after hours or even days. Anyway, the most significant clinical signs of concussion include; headache, dizziness, nausea, blurred vision, photophobia, hypersensitivity to noise, fatigue and drowsiness. 

It's important to monitor the presenting symptoms, especially within the first 24 – 48 hours after head trauma. If the patient develops any of the warning signs that could suggest serious complication, it's advised to seek medical care immediately; these warning signs include the following: 

Recurrent vomiting. 

Unresponsive pupils to light stimuli. 

Seizures. 

Loss of consciousness. 

Tingling and numbness in the extremities. 

Inability to identify previously well-known persons. 

Loss of vision. 

Slurred speech. 

Proper management of concussion includes the following tips: 

Getting some rest for brain recovery. 

Avoiding bright lights or noisy places. 

Drinking plenty of fluids. 

Monitoring warning signs and seeking urgent medical care if developed.
